SUMMARY:Coming Home to Yourself\, Again: Life Beyond Fight or Flight
DESCRIPTION:Via Zoom. \nDo you want to feel more connected? More energetic? More “in the flow?” Are you calm and peaceful even when those around you are not? The somatic experiencing process helps clients build resiliency\, not by telling the story\, which often retraumatizes\, but by touching into the trauma without going into overwhelm.  In this 2-hour workshop you will learn tools and information about your nervous system to grow your capacity by touching into your sensations\, feelings\, thoughts\, and perceptions without becoming activated. As with most things\, the way out is the way through. This workshop is about how to take the way through. \nA participant who took Jane’s workshop in April found it very helpful. She noted: “I learned some helpful things I didn’t know about how our central nervous systems get activated. I was able to immediately use the techniques Jane taught us and put them to work helping me calm myself when I get anxious\, which is happening alot in these anxious times.” \nLeader: New to Durham\, Jane Austin is a coach\, spiritual director\, and somatic experiencing practitioner (SEP). Jane has been working as an SEP since 2011 in many different settings.  \nCost: $25 \nContact: RCWMS\, 919-683-1236\, info@rcwms.org\, or Jane Austin\, jaustinsd@msn.com. \nRegistrants will receive a Zoom link in the automated ticket confirmation.

SUMMARY:Introduction to the ENNEAGRAM with Sandra Smith
DESCRIPTION:Via Zoom. \nThe Enneagram (“ennea” is Greek for nine) is a clear map revealing nine distinct ego structures the connections between them\, and the direction for individual growth and transformation. The uniqueness of this system lies in its ability to clearly identify motivations beneath behaviors. It brings to consciousness “why we do what we do” and brings awareness to where our minds focus when we live life on automatic. As we deepen our self-awareness\, we become less reactive\, more curious and compassionate. Understanding the nine different filters and motivations allows us to be more patient with differing points of view\, cultivate more curiosity and lessen our judging. \nThis workshop will help us better understand the following: each type’s first placement of attention and the associated blind spots; the world view and ego ideal of each of the nine types; inherent strengths of the types that include drawing from the resource points; and the three centers of intelligence. \nCost: $60 \nLeader: Sandra Smith\, MDiv\, is a certified Enneagram teacher in the Narrative Tradition who consults and teaches throughout North America. Learn more about her work HERE. \nRegistrants will receive a Zoom link in the automated ticket confirmation.
