DESCRIPTION:Kim Gaubault recognizes that self-care is often the component that remains a form of intervention (after the break or the medical emergency) rather than a preventative measure. When we allow our bodies\, minds and/or spirits to break down in the course of doing this work\, we are not only putting ourselves at risk but we are putting at risk the integrity of the work for which we are laboring. This work is a work of self-love\, communal love\, Womanist Ethicism\, it is multi-generational\, multicultural and is not finite\, but is instead as infinite as the beauty in the divinity that is Blackness. Come and share in this life’s work! DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a two-session online labyrinth retreat\, Thursdays\, October 20th & 27th. We welcome back Barrie Gibby\, who will engage participants in a deeper understanding of the labyrinth by linking its quadrants and path to life phases and the Celtic Tree Zodiac. \nTrees are the oldest living beings on earth and are more precious now than ever. How does their wisdom deepen our understanding of transformative life? Following the path of the labyrinth and practices of the Celts\, how are we listening to the trees and learning from their profound and patient wisdom? What song is rising in the sap of your soul tree to share with the world? What can we do to take meaningful action for eco-justice in our interior and exterior landscapes to partner with the Mother? \n\nIn this two-part series\, we gather as pilgrims to celebrate the beauty of your mystical Celtic birth tree and healing properties\, identify your soul tree\, and interweave the sacred feminine through the embodied spiritual practice of walking the labyrinth. The experiences of journaling\, sharing\nphotos in a slide collage\, honoring your Ogham (ancient Celtic alphabet) symbol\, creating an altar\, and singing with the trees (and Ruth!) to unfold a new path given to us by the ancients are all elements of this two- session mini-retreat. \nResources sent in advance. Open to all. \nDates: Thursdays\, October 20 & 27\, 2022. \nLeaders: Barrie Carter Gibby is an educator\, social justice activist\, accomplished pianist\, and theater director. As a member of the Veriditas Faculty (Worldwide Labyrinth Project)\, Veriditas Council and an Advanced Certified Labyrinth facilitator\, Barrie finds sacred spaces everywhere.\n \n \nRuth Cunningham is a sound healing practitioner and was a founding member of the group Anonymous 4. She specializes in early music performance as well as improvisational sacred music from varied spiritual traditions in both liturgical and concert settings. She works with individuals and groups on using the voice and music for healing and creating a spiritual practice using sound. With Anonymous 4\, Ruth performed in concerts and festivals throughout the United States\, Europe and the Far East and made thirteen recordings.  She is a member of the core faculty for The Chartres Academy Wisdom School that meets in Chartres France each summer.
