SUMMARY:Ministry of Black Women's Self Care\, January\, 2023 - with Kim Gaubault (via Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:Kim Gaubault recognizes that self-care is often the component that remains a form of intervention (after the break or the medical emergency) rather than a preventative measure. When we allow our bodies\, minds and/or spirits to break down in the course of doing this work\, we are not only putting ourselves at risk but we are putting at risk the integrity of the work for which we are laboring. This work is a work of self-love\, communal love\, Womanist Ethicism\, it is multi-generational\, multicultural and is not finite\, but is instead as infinite as the beauty in the divinity that is Blackness. Come and share in this life’s work! This program is specifically designed to offer practical tools for everyday self-care to Black women-identified individuals doing all forms of ministry\, in church and community. \nJanuary 2023 – On My Way ‘Home’: Finding My Tribe\nFebruary 2023 – It Takes (at least) Two: The Importance of Reciprocity\nMarch 2023 – We Overcome by the Word of Our Testimony: A Celebration of Us\nLeader: Kimberly Gaubault (McCrae) is an intentional lover of humanity and actively lives the self-care life about which she teaches and advocates. Her personal philosophy of interpersonal interaction is\, “If I’ve not positively influenced someone everywhere I’ve gone\, I’ve not walked in my purpose.” \nCost: $10\, $25\, or $40 \nper session. Choose the price that fits your budget. \nRegister for January below. Register for February: HERE. Register for March: HERE. \nRegistrants will receive a Zoom link in the automated ticket confirmation.

SUMMARY:Threshold Path of Imbolc on the Labyrinth: with Barrie Gibby (via Zoom)
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Imbolc on Feb. 1\, that powerful Celtic Fire Festival between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox\, let’s light our “inextinguishable fire” on this eve\, in honor of Brighid/Bride/St. Brigid\, the ancient goddess-turned-saint\, who brings us together under the Great Oak to cross seasonal thresholds of our lives. In this “thin place” time of emerging light\, when life is quickening beneath us\, we take stock of what to leave behind and remember our own ancestors who gather at our hearth. What is the wisdom of Imbolc and Brigid that we can embrace in our “blue cloak” to carry forward? \nThresholds onto the path\, the turns and center place of the labyrinth will be the desk-size meditation platform to walk and culminate our time together (downloads included). Rituals\, Celtic stories\, labyrinth background and some deeper dives into this thin place will accompany the evening. Instructions for Brigid’s reed cross sent in advance. \nResources sent in advance. Open to all. \nLeader: Barrie Carter Gibby works on the creative edge between the branches of words and movement expression. An educator\, social justice activist\, accomplished pianist\, theater director\, and labyrinth facilitator\, she facilitates retreats to an international audience on a variety of themes. As a member of the Veriditas Faculty (Worldwide Labyrinth Project)\, Veriditas Council and an Advanced Certified Labyrinth facilitator\, Barrie finds sacred spaces everywhere.\n \n \nCost: $40. Sessions will be recorded for those with schedule conflicts. \nRegister below. Registrants will receive a Zoom link in the automated ticket confirmation. \nThis workshop is a natural extension of our programming\, as RCWMS has been using its own 40’ x 40’ canvas labyrinth since 1998. For more information about RCWMS’s labyrinth programming history and current opportunities please visit Labyrinth Resources and scroll down to the video featuring RCWMS’ Jeanette Stokes.
