Please note: A sewing machine is required to complete this project. Kianga will be bringing an assortment of African fabrics to pair with participant’s choices of solids. You will not have to purchase the fabric Kianga is bringing for the class. You are welcome to bring additional fabric if you choose. Kianga will have a few fat quarter bundles for sale in addition to the fabric she is bringing for the class.
Fabric:
1 fat quarter of skin tone fabric
3 fat quarters of solid fabric (one each of 3 different colors)
1 yard of your favorite quilt batting
1 yard of backing fabric
1/2 yard of border fabric
Other items:
Scissors
Pins
2-3 hand sewing needles
1 spool of quilters hand sewing thread
2 spools of #8 Wonderfil Perle cotton (in a color that will stand out against your chosen fabrics)
1 spool each of light and dark machine sewing thread
1 black Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen size F or M
