This book is a collection of writings by Anita McLeod, who embodied feminist principles in her leadership style. She trusted groups of women to learn from and teach one another without her having to be the kind of teacher who tells participants everything they need to know. She trusted the groups more than she trusted the “experts.”

She invented classes, workshops, and ongoing groups on issues she wanted to learn more about. She began with Menopause and moved on to Mothers and Daughters, Women over Sixty, Wise Choices, intergenerational writing workshops, workshops about the natural world, and finally end-of-life issues and Befriending Death. These topics are all covered in the book.

Anita often said, “I wanted to learn, to have meaningful conversations, and to contemplate my choices in a circle of thoughtful women.” This book shares some of what she learned.
