collective care retreat: A PRACTICE OF EMBODIED REST

June 24, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

$50.00 – $80.00

Presented by: opal collective in partnership with peace hill

This half day retreat is designed to provide rest and reconnection for activists, social change agents, and those creating a positive impact in our world. Participants will engage in an intention setting ceremony, receive healing practices for physical, mental, and spiritual nourishment, and practice mindful movements to remind the body of its innate wisdom. Self reflection through journaling will allow participants to connect more deeply with their inner selves, and to gain insights that can be applied to their everyday lives. A deeply restful sound journey will be offered to support participants in experiencing a sense of inner calm and peace. By investing in this time for self-care, nature, and restoration, activists and social change agents can continue to do their important work from a place of groundedness and inner strength.

Facilitators: Shakira Bethea, she/her, is committed to social change and empowering bodies of culture. She is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, aiming to educate and empower people to explore their healing abilities and discover the interconnectedness of their physical, mental, and emotional bodies through bodywork and rhythmic movement.
