Weaving feminism & spirituality into a vision of justice for the world
Via Zoom.
Do all major world religions have the same goals? No!! The differences are critical to understand so we can foster interfaith cooperation and meet common goals. We will read and discuss Stephen Prothero’s book God Is Not One: The Eight Rival Religions that Run the World and learn more about each tradition. This 8-session class over 16 weeks offers all the fun of a college comparative religions course, designed to improve basic religious literacy, with none of the high tuition or stress of tests or grading. We’ll meet twice a month on Zoom to discuss the readings (40-80 pp every 1-2 weeks), review free films and other resources in between, and get to know worldviews other than your own.
Leader: Rev. Dr. Wakoh Shannon Hickey, MA, MDiv, PhD, is an experienced professor, author, and promoter of interfaith engagement. A priest of Soto Zen Buddhism, she works currently for Hospice by the Bay in Northern California. Learn more about Wakoh here.
