Thank you to everyone who supported the work of RCWMS during our year-end fundraising drive! So many of you gave with such generosity, including supporters who have given for many years, and a number of first-time donors. 2018 saw a number of firsts, including two new anti-racist workshops (Changing the Race Dance and Doing Our Own Work); a songwriting workshop with Carrie Newcomer (The Story of Now); The Ministry of Black Women’s Self Care with Kimberly Gaubault; a SoulCollage workshop; voter registration and outreach; and our first large reading at Hayti Heritage Center, with author Melanie Morrison. None of this would have been possible without you!
We have some exciting new programs planned for 2019 (check back here and on our events page), and we’ll continue to build on the strengths of our writing program, art program, Homegrown: NC Women’s Preaching Festival, and our elder women’s project.
Here’s a short video thanking all of you for your involvement in making RCWMS a very special and transformative place! Thank you all, and happy new year!
