RCWMS is committed to supporting women as they find their voices and make them heard. In addition to our writing classes, workshops, and retreats, we run an essay contest in most years. Our 2022 Essay Contest will remain open through July 31, 2022. Women 18 years of age and older may submit previously unpublished nonfiction essays of 1,200 words or fewer.
THEME: Essays should focus on the theme of bodily autonomy. Writers could focus on their own experience or on someone who spoke out for their personal rights or bodily integrity.
DETAILS: Women (cis and trans) 18 years of age or older may submit up to two nonfiction essays, 1,200 words or less. Previous first-place winners and current RCWMS Board members not eligible.
